Community Development Corporations were created to service the needs of the low-income population through community and economic development initiatives. Fortunately, today resources are available to support those initiatives. To qualify for the available resources you must be a “state certified” organization through the SC Department of Commerce. State certified organizations are eligible for funding opportunities, technical assistance, and training. Further, state certified organizations are authorized to promote the Community Development Tax Credit Program and receive eligible contributions. Our certified organizations are making great strides and impacting the lives of South Carolinians across the state. To begin the process of certification, click here. Certification IS NOT a requirement to become a member of SCACDC.
The three steps below will help you establish a CDC in South Carolina. There is alot of information to learn, so do not hesitate contacting the SCACDC if you have additional questions.
